Eagles News · Varsity girls beat Hesperia, 68-30

Kent City’s varsity girls played host to the Panthers from Hesperia Monday night in The Nest, and the Eagles cruised to a 68-30 victory to remain unbeaten at 10-0 overall and now 5-0 in the CSAA.  Hesperia found itself down just a point a few minutes into the contest trailing 5-4, but Kent City scored the final 17 points of the quarter to lead 22-4 after the first quarter and then extended its lead to 44-12 at the intermission.

Kenzie Bowers scored 23 points to lead the Eagles, and Maddie Geers was also in double figures with 16 points.  Lexie Bowers finished with seven points, while Jenna Harrison, Kierra Flegel, and Emma Geers each chipped in six points.  Taryn Preston added four points.

The Eagles will play two more games this week.  Kent City will play another league game at home Wednesday when the Mohawks from Morley-Stanwood come to town.  Game time is set for 5:30.  The Eagles will finish the week with a three o’clock game Saturday afternoon at East Grand Rapids.
