The boys varsity basketball team beat White Cloud last night 53-41. This improves the teams record to 4-3 overall and 3-1 in the CSAA.
The first half of the game was a struggle for the Eagles as they did not shoot well and lacked energy. The visiting Indians led by as many as eight points in the second quarter, and held a four point lead at the half. After regrouping during the intermission, Kent City used a 23 to 7 scoring advantage in the third quarter to grab control of the game. The intensity was high in that stanza as numerous times Eagle players went to the floor for loose balls. That energy changed the game.
Kyler Larson led the way with 16 points, Hayden Carlson scored 12 points and Casen Armstrong had 11. Bryant Fahling played well at both ends the entire night.
Kent City has three important CSAA Silver games next week. On Monday, Kent City will welcome Hesperia to the Nest, then on Wednesday, conference arch-nemesis Morley Stanwood. Finally, on Friday, the Eagles will travel to Holton to take another crack at league leading Holton. All three games are slated to begin at 7:00 p.m.
