It has become common place for our athletic website to find itself in the top ten among the Varsity News Network (VNN) websites in the state of Michigan, but residing in the top spot has only come a handful of times. Out of the 194 schools in Michigan who use VNN as their website provider, Kent City ranked 1st throughout April with 19,082 “hits.” Although the traffic is low by our standards, it was not bad considering we outdistanced the second place school (East Lansing) by 6,587 hits! It is also noteworthy to look at the size of the other schools in top ten list, East Lansing (1,185), Brandon (794), Grand Rapids South Christian (623), Canton (2,189), Trenton (877), Plymouth (2,232), Midland (1,290), Clarencville (634), and Freeland (634). Kent City’s enrollment for 2019-2020? 369 students.
Our numbers are low this month for obvious reasons. We certainly missed the articles by coaches highlighting the work by our student athletes. We miss the pictures of our student-athletes competing. All of that seems to be on its way back with the lifting of the stay at home order on Monday. Hopefully, we will be enjoying these articles and pictures once again in the fall of 2020! Until then — stay safe and Go Eagles!
