Multiple Teams · 2020-2021 MHSAA Classifications Released — Eagles move up a division in five sports

This year’s release of the MHSAA Classifications for post-season play for the 2020-2021 school year was met with a little more anticipation than usual.   Next year marks the first year of the new MHSAA football playoff guidelines that will be determined prior to the season beginning.   Instead of determining the divisions according to the enrollment of the teams that qualified for the playoffs by winning six games, teams will now need to be among the top 32 teams in each division of around 66 schools.   Kent City’s high school enrollment is up for 2020-2021, at 369 students, which will also influence other sports as well.

In fact, four sports will be playing in the next division up during the 2020-2021 school year: Boys Soccer, Boys Bowling, Girls Bowling, and Wrestling.   The rest of Kent City’s teams will remain where they were at during 2019-2020.   It is interesting to see  where other schools are at in the grand scheme of things as possible opponents are scoped out for the upcoming sports season.  To see the complete list of enrollments and classifications by sport, use the links below:
