Multiple Teams · 3rd Annual Book Drive scheduled for Friday, January 17 vs. Hesperia

Now in its third season, the elementary/middle school book drive will take place on Friday, January 17, 2020 when Hesperia comes to town for a CSAA Silver clash.   Anyone who brings a new or gently used book to donate to the elementary or middle school libraries will gain free admission to the game.  The varsity basketball teams both understand the importance of literacy to success, the both Eagle basketball teams earned Academic All-State recognition following the 2018-2019 season for their cumulative grade point averages.

In addition to the book drive, we are celebrating elementary night which will feature some of our future Eagle stars both on and off the court.   Prior to each game, we will be treated to singing by 4th and 5th grade Kent City Elementary students.  Then at halftime of the girls varsity games the 5th grade boys basketball team will do an inter-squad scrimmage followed by the 4th and 5th grade girls at the halftime of varsity boys basketball game.  The Kent City varsity basketball cheer team will perform along with the Kent City pep band .

Last year 601 books were donated during the book drive.   Our goal is to set a new record this season as last year’s total was four times the amount we took in during the first year.  The books will be put to good use in our libraries at both the elementary and middle schools.

The varsity girls game will tip-off at 6:00 p.m. with the varsity boys basketball team set to start at 7:30 p.m.
