Kent City began the new year the way it ended the last year, and that’s with a victory. The Eagles improved to 7-0 with a 52-9 victory at Grand River Prep Tuesday night. Kent City led 21-3 after the first quarter and then held the Titans scoreless in the second quarter while scoring 18 points to lead 39-3 at the half.
Kenzie Bowers and Jenna Harrison each connected five times from behind the arc as they scored 21 and 19 points, respectively, to lead the Eagles. Also scoring for Kent City were Mikayla Loew and Lauren Schnicke with four points a piece and Lexie Bowers and Joan Carr who each chipped in two points.
Kent City improves to 7-0 and remains 2-0 CSAA conference play. The Eagles return to conference play on Saturday when they host Morley-Stanwood in a showdown for first place at The Nest. Tip-off is schedule for 4:30.
