Welcome to this week’s edition of Fast Five, where you can get to know an Eagle athlete through just five questions! This week, I talked to senior Kristen Toporski. Kristen is a member of the varsity girls’ cross country team in the Fall, the varsity cheer team in the Fall & Winter, and varsity track squad in the spring. On top of her athletic commitments, Kristen is also a member of the band and National Honor Society.
1. If you could only watch one TV show for the rest of your life, what would it be?
“I would have to say Vampire Diaries. I binge watched that sucker last year during all of the snow days and it was great.”
2. If you could live in one major US city for the rest of your life, which city would it be?
“I think I’d choose New York City…I love musicals, food, and the change in seasons. Also the last time I was there I saw Channing Tatum so that would be a plus.”
3. What are you most anxious about for college?
“I’m slightly nervous for the workload because I LOVE to procrastinate. Also, trying not to gain the freshman 15!”
4. What will you miss the most about running cross country?
“I will miss my team so much. Over all my years of cross country I have had a great group of people to run with. I don’t even like to think about not being with them next year.”
5. What convinced you last winter to join the cheer team for the rest of high school?
“My friend Bryn Mortensen really wanted to try it senior year, so I told her I’d try it with her. She was the best base bud. I’ve had lots of fun stunting with a ton of groups.”
The varsity girls’ cross country team will be in action for the final time this season tomorrow November 2nd at the MHSAA Cross Country State Finals at Michigan International Speedway. The girls will take their mark at 10 AM. You can catch the varsity cheer team on the sidelines at every football game for the rest of the season, and in the stands at every home varsity girls or boys basketball game in the Winter.
