Multiple Teams · Fast Five: Trent Buckner–Teleportation, Paul Revere, and Tacos

Welcome to this week’s edition of Fast Five, where you can get to know an Eagle athlete through just five short questions! For this Homecoming edition of FF, I talked to Senior Trent Buckner. Trent is an instrumental part of the varsity boys soccer team and kicks PATs, field goals, and kickoffs for the varsity football team. In the spring, Trent runs(and jumps) for the varsity boys’ track and field squad.

1. If you could have one superpower, what would it be?

“If I could only have one it would have to be teleportation. I think being able to teleport would be cool. I don’t really have any other reason.”

2. If you could meet any famous person from any point in time, who would you want to meet?

“I would definitely want to meet Paul Revere and his horse.”

3. If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what food would you choose?

“I would choose tacos, because you can change a lot of the ingredients. It would help keep things as fresh as possible if you could only eat one food.”

(Interesting note: Trent’s good friend Jared Lucht said that tacos were his favorite food on the first edition of Fast Five.)

4. What us your favorite thing about the game of soccer?

“I really enjoy when my teammates and I are in a good flow of working together well and making really good passing plays in order to generate chances.”

5. What is something new you’ve experienced in your first year kicking for the football team?

“The camaraderie of the football team is definitely something new for me. It has a very special feeling. Everyone is family. I’ve really enjoyed it and I wish I had done it sooner.”

The Kent City varsity boys’ soccer team has a busy week ahead next week. They first welcome Hart to Ward Memorial Field on Monday. First kick vs. the Pirates will be at 4:30. They then travel up to Reed City for the CSAA Tournament Finals on Tuesday at 4:30, the final game of their regular season, with their MHSAA District Quarterfinals match coming up on Thursday, October 10th. On the football end of the spectrum, the Varsity Eagles will travel to Holton on Friday to finish off their CSAA Silver Schedule in a clash with the Red Devils. Kickoff is at 5:00.
