The JV volleyball team finished off a busy week of volleyball at Muskegon Catholic for a tournament Saturday. The ladies started out flat losing to Hesperia but then rebounded to beat Newaygo and split with Pewamo Westphalia. With a record of 1-1-1 this placed them in 3rd place out of their pool and in the silver bracket. The ladies finished the day strong and with more energy defeating Muskegon Catholic 25-17 and 25-7, then defeated Holton 25-16 and 25-11 to win the silver bracket. Emmalyn Geers led all servers with 32 points and 12 aces, followed by Taylor Lucht with 30 points and 5 aces, Taylor also chipped in 29 digs on the day. Kaila Krueger spread the offense around with 36 assists and also led the team in digs with 31. Kylie Brown led all hitters with 14 kills and added 5 blocks. Emmalyn Geers and Taryn Preston also also hit well on the day with 13 and 11 kills respectively. This brings the teams record to 11-1-2. The team will be back in action Wednesday night as they travel to Morley Stanwood to take on the Mohawks.
