Eagles News · KC Junior Baseball Team Wins District Championship; Heading to State

This past Saturday the junior boys baseball team finished off its district tournament with an impressive victory over Oakridge by a score of 20-1 to qualify for the state tournament hosted by Southern Little League in Grand Rapids.


Over the past two weeks, the team posted a 4-1 record during the district tourney and scored an impressive 72 runs during that same span.

Team members include Jim Anderson, Josh Anderson, Troy Atwood, Tyler Brummel, Ryan Darling, Adrian Hernandez, Zane Kik, Kyler Larson, Webb Longcore, Justin Mack, Ryan McCuaig, Payton Oliver, Derek Rodenburg, and Arin Sarres.

The team starts pool play this coming weekend with games on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at the Southern Little League complex located at 2525 Kalamazoo Ave. SE Grand Rapids, MI.  The following is a list of game times:

Thursday, July 25 at 2:00 p.m.

Friday, July 26 at 11:00 a.m.

Saturday, July 27 at 9:00 a.m.

If the boys finish in the top 2 of their pool, they will advance to the round of 8 with single elimination games taking place on Sunday, July 28.  The final games will be held on Monday, July 29.

Congrats to this group of hardworking and talented boys!  Good luck to them as well as they look to represent Kent City at the state finals.
