Varsity Boys Golf, Varsity Girls Golf · Golf team concludes 2019 campaign and turns an eye to summer

The varsity golf team participated in the MHSAA Regional golf tournament last Wednesday at Pigeon Creek Golf Course in West Olive.  The team carded a respectable 398 and finished T-9th out of 19 teams that competed.  The tournament marked the end of the 2019 season and the end of four years on the golf team for seniors Dylan Denhof and Alec VanNorman.  To commemorate a successful season, the team had a tailgate party on Thursday.  Team members enjoyed hamburgers and hotdogs from grillmaster Alec VanNorman along with Cornhole competitions, lawn-chairs, and festive music.

As we head into the summer, there will be plenty of opportunities for golfers to work on their game and prepare to take the place of the seniors who are departing.  Two consecutive 2nd-place finishes in the CSAA Bronze is very respectable but the gap between Kent City and 1st-place Big Rapids has grown larger.  This summer is the perfect time to put in the work necessary to change this trend.  The flyer that is attached below outlines the summer golf opportunities available to boys and girls in grades 7 – 12.
