Varsity Baseball · Eagles fall to Lakeview; Look to Rebound on Monday

The Baseball team went on the road to Lakeview Friday for a Conference Doubleheader against the Wildcats.  In Game 1 the Eagles could not get anything going offensively as they would fall 4-0 to Lakeview.  Casey Carew would start on the mound going 5-2/3 innings allowing just 1 earned run.  The Eagles would only manage 5 hits against the Wildcats with Byrant Fahling picking up two of those hits with one of them being a Double while Brendan Boyd, Nick Coalter, and Rylan Kerwin each added 1 hit.

In Game 2 the Eagles would plate 2 runs in the top off the first but some miscues in the bottom of the inning lead to Lakeview scoring 3 runs on their way to a 7-3 win.  Bryant Fahling, Brendan Boyd, and Aiden Sarres would combine to pitch Game 2 allowing  just 4 earned runs on 8 hits.  Offensively Kent City was lead by Aiden Sarres who was 2 for 3 with 1 RBI and Brendan Boyd who was 2 for 4 with a Double and 1 RBI.  Eli Carlson, Nick Coalter, and Tyrus Pyne who each add a hit.

Kent City will wrap up their Conference Schedule on Monday as they will travel to Morley Stanwood for a Doubleheader.  Then on Wednesday they will host the Newaygo Lions for a Non-Conference Doubleheader.  Both days are scheduled to start at 4:00 pm.
