On Friday, December 28, at Coopersville, Evan Jones continued his stellar career at Kent City with a 5-0 day to help lead his team to the tournament championship.  In the final dual of the day against Ravenna, Evan was able to reach an individual milestone as well.  With his pin over his opponent, Evan ran his season mark to 25-0 and earned his 150th career win.

With his career record of 155-22, Evan becomes the 10th wrestler in school history to accomplish the feat.  He joins Shane Rodenburg 219, Chris Sandison 189, Jarrud Ellicott 173, Jacob Thompson 166, Ryan Bockheim 163, Scott Clark 155, Konner Wolter 154, Denny Carr 152, and Carlos Diaz 150 in the distinguished club.

Evan has been a consistent performer for the wrestling team since his freshman year.  He has qualified 3 times for the individual state meet.  He earned all-state last season by placing 5th.  He has also been a CSAA all-conference wrestler 2 times, winning 1 individual conference championship.  He has helped lead his teams to 3 consecutive district championships and 2 conference championships.  Finally, Evan has also excelled in the classroom and has been an important part of helping the team earn academic all-state as well.

Evan is a tremendously hard worker who is dedicated to the sport and improving on a daily basis.  He makes others in the room better by bringing a solid effort and enthusiasm to the room on a daily basis.  These reasons help to make him successful and have led him to this milestone.  Congrats, Evan!
