The 7th grade girls basketball team gained two more wins yesterday continuing their undefeated record. Kent City began the morning playing Lakeview.
The Eagles started the game off strong and never looked back. They finished the game with a score of 44 to 19. Kent City played their normal aggressive defense leading to 16 steals. Leading those steals was Maddie Geers adding 6. Cristina Garza, Delany Bonter and Brooklyn Rogers also had 3 steals a piece. Denyle Bonter, Madison Puite and Maddie Geers worked hard to get rebounds adding 5 each for the team. Maddie Geers ended the game with 26 points. Irelyn Sullivan also had an impressive 6 points.
For their second matchup Kent City faced off against Tri-County. This game started very similar to their first game, as the Eagles began to take charge. Kent City held Tri-County scoreless the whole first quarter. This was largely due to great help-side defense and strong box-outs. Leading in rebounds was Maddie Geers with 15. Delany Bonter had 6 and Denyle Bonter had 4 for the team. Almost all of the girls got a steal during the Tri-County game, showing that everyone is working hard on the defensive end. Denyle Bonter lead the Eagles in steals adding 6, Maddie Geers and Crisina Garza also added 4 apiece. The game ended with a score of 40 to 14. Maddie Geers added 26 for the team and was followed by Denyle Bonter with 5.
