Eagles News · Lady Eagles volleyball fall to the league leading Mohawks in 4 sets

The Varsity volleyball team made the trip to face off with league leading Morley Stanwood on Tuesday night.  The Eagles would start out playing with the Mohawks in the first set before the Mohawk offense would take over and force the Eagles to play out of system too much and would drop the first set 17-25.  The second set would find the Eagles having to battle hard to stay in the game.  With the Eagles finding themselves behind 13-17 they would call their first timeout to talk about making some adjustments.  After this timeout they would earn the ball back and pull within one point before the Mohawks would call their first timeout of the set.  The Mohawks would then gain the ball back after the timeout and go up 18-16, but the Eagles would not back down. Alyssa Hartzell would then go on  a serving streak and put the Eagles up 24-18 before the Mohawks would earn the ball back.  The Eagles would then end the set with a kill by Paula Roberts to win the set 25-20.  The next two sets the Lady Eagles would fight hard and have many great saves, but too many inconsistent passes and not enough offense would give the Mohawks the wins in the last two sets.  The Eagles will be back in action on Monday night at home in a quad starting at 5:00 pm.
