Tuesday, June 12 was a pretty good day for Kent City Athletics — we can still do better.  Throughout the day 57 student-athletes from nearly every sport we offer used PLT4M in the weight room.   Our goal is 75 student-athletes in the weight room in a single day.  So take a close look at the pictures below.  If you or your child is not in the picture it is imperative that he/she makes it on Thursday to one of the sessions or they might get left behind.   We do not have a coach on our staff at Kent City who does not want stronger, faster, and less injury prone athletes on their teams.  PLT4M was designed to do just that with the multi-sport, high school athlete in mind.

The designers of PLT4M did not forget about our younger student-athletes either.  We have several middle school aged student-athletes learning how to safely use the weight room while building confidence that will translate into any sports team they might join.   It is also a great way for our student-athletes to stay in touch with their friends over the summer.

If you are in the pictures — great work!  Please help us by spreading the word to those who did not make it on Tuesday.  The weight room is open to student-athletes in grades 6-12 on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. respectively.  Do not let the lack of a ride stop you or your child from making it to the weight room either.   If your child is in need of a ride, contact athletic director Jason Vogel at jason.vogel@kentcityschools.org  and we will make arrangements.  Or contact your child’s coach to find out when their team will be making use of the weight room this summer.

7:00 p.m. Lifting — Tuesday, June 12, 2018

Also, we are still offering our pool workouts on Monday and Wednesday nights from 8:00 p.m. — 8:45 p.m.   Kent City student-athletes can join our workouts free of charge.  The pool is an excellent way for student-athletes who might be a little sore from the weight room to recover, while getting a great workout in the water!
