J.V. Baseball · JV Baseball Team Now 17-0 With Two More Wins Over Hesperia Last Night!

The JV Boys Baseball team picked up 2 more wins last night at home against Hesperia 10-0 and 20-0, to run their record to a perfect 17-0 on the season with 4 games left on the schedule.  In the first game the Eagles won by the mercy rule after 4.5 innings 10-0, with 5 runs coming in the bottom of the fourth inning.  Shawn Anderson pitched 4 innings striking out 5 and Bryant Fahling pitched the final inning striking out 2.  Both pitchers did outstanding work, and Jared Lucht was great behind the plate once again.  The Eagles had 6 hits along with 11 walks to get the 10 runs, but had some unlucky outs along the way with too much aggressiveness on the base paths(blame the base coach).  Leading hitters were:  Bryant Fahling had 2 hits, and Brendan Boyd, Aaron Rich, Jared Lucht and Shawn Anderson each had 1 hit.

In the second game the Eagles jumped out to a 14-0 first inning lead, then scored 6 more runs in the bottom of the second inning to win 20-0, again by mercy after 2.5 innings.  Bryant Fahling threw all 3 innings striking out 4 batters, and he also pitched a perfect game by not allowing a walk, hit or run in the game.  Aaron Rich caught the second game and had another solid performance behind the plate.  The Eagles had 9 hits and 11 walks in the game and players were constantly moving around the bases and scoring runs in quick fashion.  Leading hitters were:  Will Wright with 3 hits (he went 3-3 and a walk), Bryant Fahling and Aiden Sarres each with 2 hits, and Paul Yates and Shawn Anderson with 1 hit each.  The Eagles played great baseball and came away with another 2 wins, with 4 games left on the schedule.  The Eagles travel to Newaygo to play on Saturday at 9am vs. Newaygo, then play again at 11am vs. Shelby for two non league games.  Then finish the season at home next Monday against White Cloud in a key conference DH.  Great team effort and great support from our fans!!
