Multiple Teams · Kent City Athletics Weekly 10-27 — 11-1

The Varsity Volleyball Team took care of business this week at Lakeview, beating the Wildcats 3-0 improving their record to 36-6-4 on the season and 8-1 in the CSAA Silver Conference.  With the win, the Eagles will have a chance to share the conference title with a win over Morley Stanwood on Wednesday night.  The J.V. volleyball team also beat Lakeview on Wednesday and won 2 out of 3 games at the Comstock Park Quad losing to the host in the final game — that snaps a streak of 53 straight sets the J.V. team had won!  In fact it was the first loss since August 28.  A remarkable feat, especially considering 2 sophomores play on the Varsity squad.
Congratulations to the Varsity Football team who earned a win in the fog on Friday night to finish the season 4-5.  The Eagles snapped a 3 game losing skid with the victory over the Vikings in a game that saw Tri-County jump out to a 2 touchdown lead in the first half.
In Cross Country, Freshmen Fraser Wilson punched his ticket to the MHSAA State Finals in Brooklynn at Michigan International Speedway next Saturday.  Wilson qualified with his 5th place finish and time of 15:52.99.  Fraser was our only qualifier, as our top female runners were slowed by injury at Saturday’s Regional meet.
Finally, as the fall season comes to a close, we would be remiss if we did not acknowledge the hard work of Tim Parmeter.  Our fields are arguably in the best shape they have ever been in at this point of the season.  If you had a chance to see the KC on the football field, the senior numbers, and the overall condition of our football, soccer, and practice fields you know what I mean.  We also appreciate everyone’s cooperation this fall, limiting traffic on ALL game fields so Tim and his
crew can work to improve our facilities.  When you see Tim Parmeter please join me in thanking him for his Commitment to Excellence.
